The May Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary honors Our Lady during the month traditionally dedicated to her. Through prayer, hymns, and the solemn placing of a crown upon her image, the faithful express their love and devotion to the Mother of God and recognize her as Queen of Heaven and Earth. The celebration is also an occasion to seek her maternal intercession and to renew our desire to imitate her humility, purity, and perfect fidelity to God.
