Ascension Thursday commemorates Our Lord’s glorious Ascension into Heaven forty days after His Resurrection. Before the eyes of His disciples, Christ ascended to the Father, completing His earthly mission and promising the coming of the Holy Ghost, while reminding the faithful that our true homeland is in Heaven.
