The Easter Vigil is the solemn celebration of Our Lord’s Resurrection and the triumph of light over darkness, life over death, and grace over sin. The traditional ceremonies include the blessing of the new fire and Paschal candle, the ancient prophecies, the blessing of the baptismal water, and the administration of Baptism, by which the newly baptized are cleansed from sin, receive sanctifying grace, and are welcomed into the Catholic Church.
